Iceland Summer Ring Tour: Explore the Land of Fire and Ice with Jona Tours

This tour is perfect for first-time visitors to Iceland, offering a comprehensive experience of the country's diverse landscapes. You'll stay in charming farm hotels with en-suite rooms, high standards of accommodation, and exceptional food in beautiful surroundings.

Explore the Northern areas, known for recent volcanic activity, including hot smouldering lava fields, bubbling mud pools, steam-filled crevasses, earthquake-scarred mountains, and incredible lava formations. Relax in the luxurious Myvatn Nature Baths, often called the Blue Lagoon of the North. The Eastern coast's dramatic fjords and the South's Europe's largest glacier add to the breathtaking scenery.

This holiday appeals to a wide range of interests, including ornithology, geology, and botany. Huge flocks of birds from Northern Europe nest and feed here, making it a paradise for bird watchers. The unique geology and diverse flora make it a nature lover's dream, and the clarity of the air offers fantastic photography opportunities.

Travel across Iceland in a private coach with a professional guide and driver, exploring the unspoiled and stunning sights in the land of the midnight sun. Jóna Tours, organized by Jona and guided by Fanney, an experienced Icelandic guide, guarantees a peaceful and personalized holiday experience.

Many of our members are captivated by the sheer beauty of the Icelandic landscape and return to Jóna Tours again and again to explore other areas of the island.

First of all what a wonderful trip - we didn’t know what to expect but Iceland as a whole far exceeded our expectations! Can you please pass on our thanks to Fanney and Thorstein for making it a most memorable trip - so many highlights. They both looked after us so well. We learned so much about Iceland, the history and the people and, of course, the sagas and folklore. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and driver. On the whole it was really well organised and we feel like we packed a lot in which was great. The photo stops to break longer journeys were ideal. Hotels were good and the food was excellent.

All the holiday, and I mean ALL of the holiday, was so very enjoyable. Fanney the guide was very good in letting us stop at lots of places for photo stops. The balance between the coach ride and getting out to see the sights was just right. I was interested in the geology, which was why I wanted to come. So that was of course satisfying. I enjoyed the trip on the glacier, quite an experience! I also liked bathing in the geothermal bath. The museums were excellent, I particularly liked the Lava museum. The group of people all blended in well and I felt we were all friends by the end.

A message to say how much we enjoyed our trip to your wonderful Iceland. Lucky you to live in such a special place in the world. The tour showed many of the places that intrigue me. It was also a pleasure to meet so many like-minded travellers. I am going to keep a close eye on what happens to the country of Iceland in the future and who knows maybe another visit.
— Barbara and Philip - Iceland Summer Ring Tour 2024
The holiday was all that I had hoped for and much more! I was impressed with everything: your choice of very comfortable hotels in lovely locations, the variety of different experiences, and the very efficient and caring organisation of the journey and the events; I felt that we were really well cared for. I loved the helicopter ride it was so exciting. To stand on the actual volcano was mind blowing! Thorstein was such a safe driver and Fanney was such an excellent guide; I was so impressed with how she got to know each of the group and her unfailing patience. I thought that our group was just the right size; we were all able to get to know each other, find out what we had in common and make friends. Thank you again, for my wonderful Iceland experience!

Thank you for our fascinating tour around Iceland, everything was so well organised for us. Fanney the guide did a brilliant job keeping us entertained with folk lore stories and pointing out the places of interest on the journey. We’re glad to have been fortunate enough to have experienced such a wonderful country in such good company.
— Brenda & David - Iceland Summer Ring Tour 2024
Thank you so much for organising such a tremendous tour. So many things packed into such a short time. Nature, archeology, crafts, history, lifestyles and much much more. Fanney was amazing with such a diverse group. She catered for all our needs and quirks. My memories will be of the amazing colours round every corner the fragile life existing in some areas the strength of the Icelandic people and all round wonderful holiday.
Finally the helicopter was amazing realising there had been eruptions not long ago! I could go on for ever and as I recover from the trip so so many fantastic images keep popping into my head.
Thank you so much again for all the thought and generosity you put into organising the trip.
